Mt. Pisgah Conservation Area
Trailhead is across the road from 19 Smith Road, Northborough.

Maps are also usually available at trailhead.

All trails are well-blazed and signage is excellent, but a map will improve your experience and open your eyes to future hiking opportunities.

(Note: There are other boxes nearby on Mt. Pisgah)

Directions:
From Route 290
Take Exit 24, Church Street toward Boylston (North)
Turn right onto Ball Street
Follow for 1.7 miles; road ends at Green Street
Turn left on Green Street
Follow for 0.4 miles
Turn right on Smith Road
In 0.3 miles, trailhead is on right side of road

Clues:

Starting at the Smith Road Parking lot take the loop trail that is on the right
At the fork in the path bear right
Walk past the big pine trees
Walk down the hill through the ferns
Walk past the rock pile
Stop at the snag Tree signpost and look to your left and right then continue on
Walk over the rock walk
Start up the hill
Look to your right and you will see a huge old pine tree that has branches broken off except for the one on the left that is tall and still alive
Continue up the hill until you come across a root across a trail.
Stop and count off 15 paces
Look left and you will see a large rock next to a tree
Walk 15 paces towards the tree
You should see one tree in front of you with root base exposed
To your right is another big tree with the root base exposed
Walk over to the big rock that is right next to the tree
Touch the tree and rock
Turn around and what you seek will be hidden under rocks protected by a log cow.
When you are done stamping put everything back into the hole and continue back up the loop trail to the parking lot.
