Pisgah Conservation Area&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Trailhead is across the road from 19 Smith Road, Northborough.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Visit the Northborough Trails Committee website to download a trail map &lt;a href="http://www.town.northborough.ma.us/ntrails/trails.htm" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.town.northborough.ma.us/ntrails/trails.htm&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maps are also usually available at trailhead.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All trails are well-blazed and signage is excellent, but a map will improve your experience and open your eyes to future hiking opportunities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(Note: There are other boxes nearby on Mt. Pisgah)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Directions:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From Route 290&lt;br /&gt;Take Exit 24, Church Street toward Boylston (North)&lt;br /&gt;Turn right onto Ball Street&lt;br /&gt;Follow for 1.7 miles; road ends at Green Street&lt;br /&gt;Turn left on Green Street&lt;br /&gt;Follow for 0.4 miles&lt;br /&gt;Turn right on Smith Road&lt;br /&gt;In 0.3 miles, trailhead is on right side of road&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;Clues:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Starting at the Smith Road Parking lot take the loop trail that is on the right&lt;br /&gt;At the fork in the path bear right&lt;br /&gt;Walk past the big pine trees&lt;br /&gt;Walk down the hill through the ferns&lt;br /&gt;Walk past the rock pile&lt;br /&gt;Stop at the snag Tree signpost and look to your left and right then continue on&lt;br /&gt;Walk over the rock walk&lt;br /&gt;Start up the hill&lt;br /&gt;Look to your right and you will see a huge old pine tree that has branches broken off except for the one on the left that is tall and still alive&lt;br /&gt;Continue up the hill until you come across a root across a trail. &lt;br /&gt;Stop and count off 15 paces&lt;br /&gt;Look left and you will see a large rock next to a tree&lt;br /&gt;Walk 15 paces towards the tree&lt;br /&gt;You should see one tree in front of you with root base exposed&lt;br /&gt;To your right is another big tree with the root base exposed&lt;br /&gt;Walk over to the big rock that is right next to the tree&lt;br /&gt;Touch the tree and rock&lt;br /&gt;Turn around and what you seek will be hidden under rocks protected by a log cow.&lt;br /&gt;When you are done stamping put everything back into the hole and continue back up the loop trail to the parking lot.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/394358731745182452-2277427364705324086?l=thepurplecowletterbox.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://thepurplecowletterbox.blogspot.com/feeds/2277427364705324086/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://thepurplecowletterbox.blogspot.com/2009/05/purple-cow-letter-box-loop-trail-mt.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/394358731745182452/posts/default/2277427364705324086'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/394358731745182452/posts/default/2277427364705324086'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thepurplecowletterbox.blogspot.com/2009/05/purple-cow-letter-box-loop-trail-mt.html' title='The Purple Cow Letter box - Loop Trail Mt.
